NYC Holiday Market Brings Local Gifts to Last-Minute Shoppers (Photos)

If you’re in New York City this week, the Big Social Holiday Market by the Hester Street Fair, is not to be missed. Last-minute holiday shoppers can choose from a bevy of local vendors showcasing handmade and vintage gifts, open today through Thursday, December 23, from 11am-8pm, at Open House Gallery (201 Mulberry Street). TreeHugger stopped by this past weekend, see what we found:

Those looking to skip the big box retailers for their holiday shopping will be satisfied with Big Social Holiday Market’s anti-chain store gift offerings, from vintage and handmade jewelry to kids crafts, arty cuff links to handcrafted perfume. All vendors at the holiday market make or collect the items they are selling–a breath of fresh air from franchise flea markets.
