Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips

Painting our nails is a lot like watching a great movie with a terrible ending. Everything looks perfect: You’re either dazzled by the simple yet elegant colors or amused at some unexpected and funky design. Yet there is always one thing that looms on the horizon, waiting to ruin the hours of attention you put in. In a movie, it’s an appallingly cliched or nonsensical ending. In manicures, it’s clothing, table edges and wayward fingers. Thankfully, our saviors are  these nail strips. If you know how to peel a sticker, you know how to apply the nail strips. And the application takes less time than waiting for a single coat of regular polish to dry. The strips even come in fun patterns. We tried out Collide-O-Scope (aka camouflage gone fabulous) and loved the bright, summery colors. These strips cost far less than a regular manicure and are a thousand times neater than polish. We would recommend them any day.

PocketBac hand sanitizer set

It’s hard to believe, but the Fourth of July is about a month away. To celebrate the land Uncle Sam loves, Bath & Body Works has put out a line of red, white and blue PocketBac hand sanitizers. We tried out the delicious “Red Apple” and the can’t-stop-smelling-my-hands “Blueberry Pancake.” These mini bottles are perfect for freshening up after lying on the grass to gaze at fireworks.

Adidas Moves Pulse

When faced with the word “perfume,” we usually think of flowers. Lots and lots of flowers, liquefied, and crammed into a glass bottle with a round, feminine shape and rosy, feminine colors. While many perfumes today still run by the “flower power” principle, some manufacturers are looking to develop subtle scents that lightly mist the wearer instead of drowning them. Adidas has come out with women’s perfumes with lighter scents. We tried out Moves Pulse for women. Though strong when first applied, the clean scent simmered down after a few minutes. Adidas is obviously trying to market to young female athletes, a core group for the sports giant. Well, we may not be the sportiest of females, but the perfume sure did make us feel like we could play a few rounds of tennis with Anna Kournikova and beat her both with our athletic skill and feminine charm.
