To say that entering a Chanel couture show is like moving into a fairy-tale world is an extreme understatement. Inside the massive Grand Palais, the site of Chanel’s couture show, was a black life-size glittering version of the Place Vendôme with a street as its runway. The front row was dotted with Charlotte Casiraghi, Mario Testino, Elle Fanning, Diane Kruger, Alexa Chung, Poppy Delevigne, Caroline Sieber, Carine Roitfeld, Daphne Guinness, Stefano Tonchi, and more.

DAKAR (AFP) – Designer Beatrice “Bee” Arthurs creations are as eclectic and mixed as her Russian-Ghanaian heritage, and she is proving at the Dakar Fashion Week that African fabric and design can be “funky and fun”.
The flamboyant 41-year-old has mixed linen with Malian mudcloth, African wax print with net and sequins into modern, cosmopolitan designs that can be worn on the streets of Accra or in the worlds fashion capitals.

The internet has yielded many trends that at one time seemed questionable and hurled them into the mainstream. Latex tights? Hello shiny leggings. Leather, bondage, the stripper shoes, platforms to high heaven. Theyve also enabled the masses to see runway shoes and take something very niche and bring it to an affordable price where you and I can afford. Take the Lita for example, practically every fashion blogger on Earth has a version (myself included) but it was a direct rip off of Charles Anastases Dungeon Boots. I can see where it comes from, online, bolder pieces communicate stronger messages than the more subtle, minimal things.
